Paros Naousa |
Naousa is the second town in population in Paros. With natural beauties and unique architecture which still preserves samples of authentic old fishermans houses, especially around the small but famous port.
At the port you can find a lot of taverns with fresh fish and local specialities. Getting in to Naousa you pass a bridge over a stream reaching the sea. Your first sight is the fishing boats at the quay and on the other and then you see the big square with cafes restaurants etc. Behind the square is the small port Naousa is especially picturesque. |
Walking along the narrow streets (and in some cases really narrow) offers you the atmosphere of the past and a sweet relaxation as your eye catches several unique items of somebodys constructive inspiration. All white, with lots of traditional arcades and private street porches and stairs where you can seat and have a rest or souvlaki! There is also a very interesting market in the streets. There are numerous little shops of jewellery, modern or classic as well as progressive decorative items and souvenirs. There are few taverns if you like to have lunch near the sea. Lageri is a place with flat rocks which make a wonderful landscape forming a naturally hidden circular port.
